- First aid basics including medical and environmental emergencies, preventing illnesses and injuries and controlling bleeding & bandaging.
- CPR AED and choking
Educational Objectives:
- Learn proper first aid techniques, how and when to call 911
- Learn how to find the problem or cause of injury
- Demonstrate how to properly use and discard PPE equipment (gloves).
- Demonstrate skills on how to use an epinephrine pen
- Learn skills on bandaging and gauze application for bleeding
- Demonstrate skills on how to use a tourniquet
- Demonstrate how to check if a victim is breathing
- Demonstrate how to open the airway of a victim who does not respond
- Demonstrate CPR skills with compressions
- Verbalize how to give breaths during CPR, mouth to mouth and hands only CPR
- Due to covid, breaths will be simulated
- Learn and understand how and when to use an AED
- Demonstrate first aid actions for a victim who is choking
- Increase confidence in providing first aid and CPR with an AED.
