BLS for Healthcare Providers Skills Test
Participants complete the HCP exam online. Those who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate, and can take a skills validation test with an AHA instructor (and earn a course completion card).

ACLS HeartCode Skills Test
Course participants who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate granting them entrance to a skills practice session (Part 2) and skills test (Part 3) with a certified American Heart Association ACLS instructor, which you must pass to qualify for an ACLS course card.

PALS HeartCode Skills Test
Course participants who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate granting them entrance to a skills practice session (Part 2) and skills test (Part 3) with a certified American Heart Association PALS instructor, which you must pass to qualify for an PALS course card.

Heartsaver First Aid with CPR/AED Skills Test
Once part one is successfully accomplished, a certificate is received allowing them to take a skills test with a local AHA BLS or Heartsaver Instructor. Part 2 is the hands on skills session with the instructor. When both parts are finished, a course completion card is issued to the student.

Heartsaver CPR & AED Skills Test
Parts 2 and 3 -- with an American Heart Association instructor to complete a hands-on skills practice session and a skills test. Upon successful completion of all three parts, students receive a course completion card valid for two years.

Hands-On Sessions for Skills Practice and Testing

For American Heart Association courses that include psychomotor skills such as CPR, students must complete a hands-on session to obtain an AHA course completion card. With AHA blended learning, students will practice and test skills to ensure competency during the hands-on session.

Hands-on sessions are conducted in person with an AHA Instructor or by using a Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM), where available. These skills sessions focus on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing.
